Business Start-up Bootcamp for Newcomers

The BC Immigrant Entrepeneur Network presents Starting a Business Bootcamp. This course is an all day event and it is designed to give you all the information you need to begin your own enterprise. Here is the Program outline:
1) STARTING RIGHT 1 – STARTING A CANADIAN BUSINESS – INTRODUCTION, CANADIAN BUSINESS CULTURE & RESOURCES
2) STARTING RIGHT 2 – BUSINESS FORMATION
3) STARTING RIGHT 3 – KNOW THE RISKS & HOW TO MAKE SOUND DECISIONS
4) STARTING RIGHT 4 – CANADIAN MARKET RESEARCH TOOLS & TECHNIQUES (INCLUDING THE BUSINESS PLAN)
Program is facilitated by Julie McMahon, MBA and C.C.D.P. Julie has owned two businesses, worked internationally (Ireland), is an Alumni of UBC, SFU and DIT and received a nomination for Social Entrepreneur of Ireland 2007. She has worked both as an employee and a consultant in the private and public sectors and has recently designed a Business Start-Up Program for a social services agency in Richmond. Julie is passionate about working with newcomers to Canada and has worked for Skills Connect for Immigrants which helps newcomers transition to their field here in Canada. Julie is a volunteer facilitator and speaker at the Richmond Public Library and Chimo Crisis Services. And in her spare time, and when the weather is a little better, she gardens with the Richmond Garden Club.
